Elizabeth Tweedale of Coco Coders Highlights Power of Community at Envision Tahoe Venture Summit
Innovation and collaboration took center stage at the Envision Tahoe Venture Summit on May 9. Hosted by the Tahoe Prosperity Center at the North Tahoe Event Center, the summit brought together local entrepreneurs, community leaders, and visionaries who are shaping the future of the region.
Among the featured speakers at the Envision Tahoe Venture Summit was Elizabeth Tweedale, Founder and CEO of Coco Coders, whose story of transitioning from global tech hubs to the community-focused environment of Lake Tahoe resonated strongly with attendees.
As a panelist on the Tahoe Trailblazers session, Elizabeth shared her journey transitioning from global tech hubs to the collaborative and inspiring environment of the Tahoe Basin. She spoke candidly about the challenges and opportunities of building a tech-driven business in a new community — and how local support systems like Tahoe, Inc. roundtables played a transformative role.
She credited these forums - local gatherings that foster collaboration among entrepreneurs in the region - with playing a significant role in reshaping her business model and overall approach to entrepreneurship.
“It’s kind of one of the fundamental things that has changed my life and my business and my mindset,” she noted.
Her insights aligned closely with one of the summit’s core themes: the importance of regional unity and long-term community investment. Though Coco Coders operates in the tech and education space—focused on teaching children aged 6-12 to code—Tweedale’s experience highlighted a broader truth shared by many in the room: the Tahoe business community thrives when it works together.
“Something that I found when I started going to these roundtables was the importance of community. They gave me optimism, encouragement, and energy,” she said.
Tweedale joined other local leaders on the panel, including Sandra Santane of Cuppa Tahoe and Tony Karwowski of the North Tahoe Community Alliance, all of whom emphasized the need for ongoing collaboration to support a more unified and resilient Tahoe economy.
